This book is about the Holy Bodhi tree, its history, behaviour, botany, constraints faced, management interventions made, treatments given and future plan. The efforts of the Scientists of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun in advising and treating the Holy Bodhi tree since 2007 and BTMC acting on the advisory to restore its health and vigour have worked for the conservation and maintenance this Holy tree for posterity. This is the pioneer book in which conservation and management aspects of a Heritage tree have been addressed. This publication will invoke interest for the conservation of heritage trees in general and revered Holy Bodhi tree in particular and will act as a guideline for maintaining heritage trees across the world.
